Ruth Chris Happy Hour
I spend some time traveling for work, often I eat at the bar when traveling alone so I look for the best happy hours wherever I travel. I recently discovered one of the best, Ruth Chris Happy Hour.
The Ruth Chris Happy Hour can be found at all restaurant locations across the country. Between the hours of 4-7pm, Monday –Friday you can enjoy one of the best happy hours around.
I spent roughly $43 and received two happy hour entrees, a cocktail and two glasses of wine. Dangggg!! I would expect to pay double this price at any gastropub or fancy hamburger joint.

What I ordered
Prime Burger with Fries
Ground steak burger made with trimmings from the same USDA prime steaks served in the restaurant. It is made with bread that is firm and crunchy on the exterior and springy soft on the inside. ½ pound burger is cooked to order and served with tomato, onion lettuce and a special sauce.
This was a simply amazing burger. Ruth’s Chris knows how to grind their meat, providing the right blend of fat content to create a juicy burger.
Steak Sandwich
The same style of crunchy bread is used, but in a mini-loaf shape. Inside about 6-8 ounces of prime steak is assembled along with a béarnaise sauce. I was expecting a nice long piece of steak on the sandwich; although after my first bite, I understood why they cut up the steak.
You get a clean bite of steak with each chomp. The sweet potato fries were also pretty delicious, although my minor complaint is that I would have preferred them to be crispier.
Ahi Tuna
This is a lighter dish comprised of roughly 4-5 ounces of dry season dusted and seared ahi. This dish is served with pickled onions and ginger. This dish is also served with a puddle of a slight tangy sauce. A delicious dish, but slightly small.
Royal Street Gin & Tonic
This is a pleasantly sophisticated gin and tonic, as expected by the folks at Ruth’s Chris. It is made with Bombay Gin, Domaine de Canton, Ginger Liquer, Tonic, peppercorns, sprig of rosemary. It is the same cocktail served in the main dining room.
